Network Administrator / System Coordinator

Overseeing all aspects of local network ranging from the helpdesk to network management. Managing close to 45 IBM Personal Computer systems across two sites, 1 ccMail Router with 2 IBM NetFinity 5500 NetWare servers connected to IFF’s Wide Area Network.

  • Repaired PC systems and servers when required
  • Maintained communication between Corporate IT Division and local office and ensured that policies and procedures were implemented

  • Created Visual Basic applications to interact with SAP, mainframe systems, and other hand held devices
  • Created documentation for all common applications used on site along with undocumented corporate policies as needed

  • Following under Corporate polices, brought site up to speed making it the top site with the least network down time in IFF North America
  • Set up a break and fix plan so that a down PC system could be replaced within 5 minutes, saving the company loss of productivity
  • For mobile users, created automated routine that would back up systems when logging onto network
  • Created many local and corporate data processing applications for Y2K data transfer
  • Automated accounting department’s book closing procedure by creating a custom application that downloaded needed information from IFF’s mainframe application; and Excel worksheets with custom macros to process the data and create custom reports
  • Worked on a project to find a way to speed up in-house applications over the WAN introducing Citrix to IFF that is now used worldwide
